While researching into my 'vintage garden' project I looked at a website called Art Culture 24. It has an abundance of information on artists, fashion, photography, and many other forms of art.

Above are images of my completed jacket. overall I have enjoyed making and most importantly learning the skills needed to make a fitted jacket. The most challenging part for me was the collar but I have learnt from this project that time and patience is key to accuracy.

This is the jacket i am currently making in the second year of university. I started this project by drafting all 18 pattern pieces. once drafted i created a lay plan on Modaris and Diamino and cut the fabric. It is unfinished but it will be completed in the next 2 weeks.

In the summer we were given the brief for our specialist practice and realisation (S.R.P). The project is to look into the eras of draping as well as modern day technique for draping. When looking into this project I realised that in fashion we plan the garments we design, make and wear around the weather of the season, but I wanted to investigate what influence nature other than the weather influences the colours, patterns and designs we wear.

So it's the start of a new year and a new term. While on summer break I was given my summer project, the theme of this was 'We work together' 'draping'. As it was a summer project I wished to base my ideas around a vintage summer tea garden. I used photos from my garden of flowers and also found vintage floral fabric to make the backing to my visual ideas board. I have very much enjoyed looking into historical references to draping and enjoying working from my garden where there is an abundance of inspiration.
